UPGRADES / MODS

I know what this 1995 Jeep is worth, BUT DO YOU?  I bought this from the original owner/family almost 3 years to the day ago. The son actually bought it from his dad, so not sure what the Carfax reports but they used it mostly as a tow-behind for their lux RV trips in SoCal.  Everything the seller told me about this Jeep was absolutely true.  The 4 cyl 2.5 liter is slow to get going, but eventually it cruises easily at 70mph.  He also said that no more and no less than 150 miles per tank of gas.  Spot on.  This YJ is a grunt warrior.  I never did any serious rock crawling but did enjoy the fireroad possibilities.  I bought it originally to be able to launch my jetski at Lake Mead because with the lower water levels I was no longer able to launch with my sedan.  I have never been a Jeep owner, but now I get the fandom!  This red Jeep immediately transforms me into a fun, adventure state of mind. Once I sold the jetski, I basically used it for either my backcountry photography or mountain biking. In my 3 years of owning this, these are the mods I have made.  Nothing too crazy, but just to make it a good day in the backcountry.

VIN: 1J4FY19PXSP274691

  • Immediately swapped out the chrome tubular bumpers and put the steel bumpers with hitch receiver. I did have U-Haul put a 3-pin adaptor at the time I was towing a trailer for lights.
  • Put on 4 new tires on the old rims, but eventually updated with 5 new rims and a new spare tire on the back with locks.
  • Rock guards/steps installed by 4Wheel Parts.
  • LED spot lights installed by 4Wheel Parts.
  • Updated/upgraded the headlights and brake lights to LED. The headlights were easy, but I had 4Wheel parts install the brake lights.
  • Ceramic tint on the windshield (new windshield with new rearview mirror) and regular limo tint on the driver and passenger glass windows.
  • Added the Center Console unit with two cup holders ($350)
  • Updated twice the Bluetooth stereo with microphone and tweeters.
  • Comes with the Rock Slide strap for the two gas “cans”
  • The previous owner provided me with the soft doors and top but I never installed them, but I have the instruction and also the Hayes manual for this model year.
  • In my three years of ownership, I had the transmission rebuilt in my first year by Ron (RIP) at AAMCO on Rainbow. He did a fabulous job and no problems.  I have updated most of the atypical engine components and recently had a full brake job.  The A/C runs per this model year, but in the hot summer it does not seem like much.
  • I had neoprene seat covers but removed them for this sale. At some point I was going to put some nice customs in but I also respected the original nature of this tan and red configuration.

I am selling this for $11,750 cash.  Please don’t try and impress me with your negotiating skills.  This 4WD with the original and somewhat rare original tan hard-top runs tip-top for a 1995 with 190K miles.  Ask anyone, this gen of YJ’s easily get 300k+ miles if they are cared for. I am not in a hurry to sell this, but I am trying to consolidate by selling my sedan and the Jeep and get a dastardly SUV.  I never thought I would, but I am trying to simplify my life.  Anything above my asking price wins, and we can meet at the Home Depot at Flamingo Road/Ft. Apache/215 on the south Summerlin part of town.  If you decide to buy this, we can proceed to the nearby CHASE bank during business hours and I will deposit your money into my account and then sign over the title to you there in their facility.

If you have not read my website in its entirety and ask me a “dumb” question, I will not respond.
